    Default W & B White Horn

This one is special to me. White Ox horn, very rare to me..It is a shame the photos show it with a green/amber tint because it is much whiter in real life.
To get the razor sitting where i wanted without having the heel protrude it needed a fine wedge. Brass was the initial idea but i went with similar horn to try new ventures..

The razor is made from that quality old steel which loves a mirror or satin finish..I honed this one last night and to have an old wedge sit flat on the hones is something i don't see often or ever.

    Thanks

    Thanks Mike.
It is white but strange how it shows like that on photographs.

Outstanding razor indeed! There is one thing that I'm not understanding however. You mention that it is waxed and ready to hone. What is the wax for?

Just for protection against rust..It is a mirror finish so no chance of rust but after i have pinned a razor, i then oil the pivot area & wax the blade with my beeswax/olive oil concoction...Then we can move to the hones.Everything has a process

That’s the quality of work I have seen from you often, combined with unique scale material. The package is fantastic. It is difficult and expensive to find horn like that.

Thanks Shaun ... Ox horn is my favorite, each piece is unique..

I made a set of scales today and realised that Buffalo horn scales are cut out whereas Ox horn scales are extracted and you need tactics as the work moves along..
