Here's a razor I've had for a few years. It was looking a little bit rough, so this was supposed to be more of a razor freshen up than a full resto job. Originally, the horn scales were very dull and had a cloudy haze through them. No nice sheen or gloss. I'd read here on the forum that this type of horn should be treated like a window to achieve good results. That is, clean and polish both sides of the scales thoroughly. So, sanding with 600, 800, 1200 and 2000 grits. Then to the buffer and finished off with Maas polish. They look nice in hand.

The blade was originally a full mirror finish, so all the pitting and scratches on the blade faces were annoying. I sanded out the worst of the blemishes then put a satin finish. I gotta go back and tidy up the spine where satin meets gloss. Bloody tape wore away. Gave the spine, tang and tail some buffing and polishing. I sanded out a steeper angle on the wedge to put some more bow in the scales. Nickel silver collars and brass pins for a change. Sorry, cant find the before pics.
