    Default Greaves & Sons

This old Greaves was in need of some TLC. First thing I did was make sure it would take and hold an edge which it did. Took me a long time to set the bevel but got there eventually. Gave the steel a good scrubbing with 3M Marine which cleared away lots of crud, then wet n dry progression, buffing and finally polishing with Maas. Blade faces have a satin finish. Scales received a good sanding. I had to fill a couple chips, then dyed them black.

Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Thanks Rez. Took advice from Outback Mike about filling holes, chips etc. And also about dyeing the scales.

Did you post this somewhere else Mick? I could swear I drooled on it before. Maybe the brain is going along with the hands. Anyway , I'm drooling now. Nice work.
