Default Wade & Butcher Extra Hollow Ground 7/8

This is one of my most recent restoration/clean ups.

I choose to do a light cleanup on this razor as opposed to a full restoration. The scales I rehydrated with mink oil and then sanded down to get rid of surface damage and some pitting in the scales. Once done I ran the blade through a sanding progression ending up at 2500 grit. Set the bevel at 1k then went through to 12k and finished on a pasted strop. This old beautiful chopper delivered an amazing shave and will be nestled in my personal collection permanently.

Nice work. I like that stand too. Did you 3D print that?

Never seen a W&B with a pointy heal. But it looks good. Nice work.

Nice work there. It's great when the old razors are brought back to life and put to use.

That is one of the big draws for me, taking an old piece of history cleaning it up and making it functional again. I have been able to put a few dozen vintage razors back into circulation since starting to restore razors and absolutely love that the legacy of the blade continues on.

Very nice work on bringing that blade back to life.

I have a couple of those but mine are 5/8 and 6/8.
