Default W.R. Humphrey in bloodwood scales

here is one of my 4 restores going on right now. this is a W.R. Humphrey & Company Black Cat Cigarettes blade on bloodwood scales with a wenge spacer. 2 coats tung oil with a textured CA 2 coat finish polished up with MAAS by hand. used adjustable pins, however pins not done. the original hex nuts i got were not the 'scale' size. (very important to note. ) also, yes that is some staining on the blade. this str8 is going to the friend that made our W&B and twins shirts. i still need to hone and shave, but i will wait until after our texas hone meet up to do that.

    comments as always welcome.

I think you did a very nice job on that razor. Getting yor first restore behind you is HUGE. You learn SO much the first time you do anything and it only gets better everytime after the first. That being said , if that's the the worst one you do, WOW your ahaed of the game....CONGRATS..

And they said cigarettes are dangerous, that is a cool blade. I'm trying my hand at restoring, but I'll most likely send out for the scales. You are a step ahead of me for sure.

update on this restore. since i got my norton last week and lapped it, i had to hone this bad boy up. so i hit the 4k for about 10 min, then looked through the scope. lots o micro chips. so i pull out the king 800 waterstone. i must have put 100 laps on the 800 just to get the chips out. i was so freakin tired. then i went back to the 4k.
20 min later and a small pyramid, i had a great edge. put 30 laps on my paddle 'coticule' and then @100 on the leather. this was a really good shave in spots, but gave me a little irritation on the neckline. tonight i did a full pyramid, 100 laps on the chinese 12k, 30 on the paddle stone, 30 on the paddle leather. i will put a full 60 on the black russian strop tomorrow and shave test this one more time. without the strop, i can feel the edge is so much sharper.

also, i pasted chrome ox on one side of the paddle along with another homemade paddle thanks to chrisL. i will test this one a swede blade i honed up tonight and probably shave with this friday.
