My first restoration effort.
Here are the blades I scored at the antique store. I posted the before pics earlier but will post them here now as well. I just started sanding on the W&B with 150 after a run on 100 grit. The Prince Royal needed only some Maas love. It has some rust, but I can't bring myself to sand on that etching! Any opinions on what they should get scaled with?

Those are mighty purty blades! Nice Job!
I think the Prince Royal blade would look good even if you scaled it with popsicle sticks . Maybe some clear scales to show it off.
That W&B blade looks meaty. Perhaps something heavy looking and traditional, like bone, or even corian in a "stone-type" pattern if you want to give it a modern twist would suit it and give it some balance. Perhaps someone with more experience could chime in here and educate us all.
I'll be looking for opinions myself soon on a Wilson, Hawksworth and Moss blade I'm finishing up.

Nice job and great looking blades! I don't think you needed to sand Prince anyway.

Great job, I've got 3 that I need to start restoring. I think
bloodwood would make great scales.

Update!!
Not much needed to be done to the Prince Royal. She is off being scaled as I write this (Thanks RMC-SS-LDO!!!). Here is a post sanding shot of the blade. I sanded it so much it is freakin' transparent!!

A most excellent shine! I love the reflection of the poker chip, it does look clearer than glass!
