George Wostenhoms and Son wedge pipe razor in Madagascar rosewood
Well, I spent around 6 hour on this blade to get it here. There are still some striations from the factory grind, they must have used a very heavy grit grinder because the grooves were very deep. Other than that, the blade was in good shape. No real rust or pitting and there is 0 hone ware. I doubt this razor has seen a stone more than a couple of times. It is a nice 5/8 wedge and sharp. I have not honed it yet and it will shave hares from your arm with relative ease.
I put the blade in a set of epoxy resin finished Madagascar rosewood. I used my usual brass over stainless washer setup for the pins as well as 1/16 brass rod for the pins. I put stainless bearings on the pivot pin. I did not put my usual nylon backer on it because the pivot hole is larger than normal. It is not worn, just large. So the nylon washers would have just fallen through and been a waste. I have been playing with mixing woods for the wedge. It does not always work, but I have found a few combinations that look good together. On this one I used an olive wedge. The scales are one of the nicest resin pours I have made, glass smooth and shiny. I think it turned out pretty nice.

Ya, I noticed that. I almost commented about it. You can also see the tube of BB’s in the last photo, and my cigar box full of razors.
I have promised someone first right of refusal, if he does not take it, it goes into the BST. Somehow, I have managed to accumulate around 20 razors in the past couple of weeks and need to liquidate some of the inventory once restored.
