Default First restoration - Wapi scaled in Padauk

Hi Gents - well, this one's for all those here at SRP that have helped me along the way. I got home, my order from Microfasteners.com had arrived, and I was ready to put my re-scaled Wapi together. I had to drill out the pivot hole in the razor tang to 3/32 to accept the brass tubing bushing, but other than that, it went together without too much trouble. It's pinned with brass rod and #0 washers, with #0W on the inside. (I have the hex screws coming, but they're on backorder).

Wood is Padauk with a Yellowheart spacer, sealed in CA.

Thank you all so much for your help!

    Mark

Well my my that did turn out rather nice !!!!
Good fit and finish, I see you figured out the CA after all, way to stick with it....
    Good job !!!! Mark

And the same warning I give to all the first time restorers....
Watch out RazorRestorationDisorder(RRD) is almost as bad as RAD is......

Thanks for the kind words, Glen. I just about managed not to permanently bond myself to the scales - but I have to say, I bought a pint of wipe on Poly just the same - this CA is just too finicky for my tastes. .

Thanks again Glen for the kind words, advice, and lending an ear.

    Great job man !
Wish my first resto had that kind of pin alignment.

    Very classy Mark!

I really like the shape of the scales and the contrast the Yellowheart spacer gives. Great job on the finish- I am a sucker for warm wood tones and the reds are a personal favorite!

Hi. (I'm just browsing around in this topic for the first time.)

Someone said "classy" and took the words out of my mouth.
