    Default W&B 'The Wingman's Girl'

this started off a few different ways. the scales were leftover from the 1st set i did. they were dups made of red oak. i ended up modifying the shape and rough shaped them. i wanted to see if i could get a consistent smoothness from the dremel. it is consistent, consistently uneven. 5 coats of tung oil on both inside and out. then 2 coats CA on the inside. the blade is a W&B Arrow 9/16. had some horizontal scratch lines in it. a little bit of surface build up, but most came off with a bit of maas and some elbow work. honed on king 800 for bevel, king 4k, 3 micron diamond paste, king 4k, norton 8k, 1 micron paste, cro-oxide paddle, paddel strop, hanging leather black russian.

now let me tell you why this is the Wingman's Girl. she is not the prettiest, but has a lot of personality. the scales are not smooth, not exotic, just plain jane wood with a slightly different shape. but the underlying is a great blade. also not the prettiest, but what a great edge once you get familiar with it. this would not be my first choice strictly based off of looks alone. but if my buddy had 1st choice, i would take this one. as i have shaved with it a few times now, i really have started to appreciate it as a really good str8. it has not let me down. this will easily move into my rotation. spacer is leftover from another set of broken scales.

A great shave is what it's all about.
    I like the shape.
