Default Wade & Butcher with skeleton-scales

The wood is grenadil, a beautiful african blackwood. Here only oiled and polished. The wedge is from tin and vulcanfibre.

VERY nice work! Awesome detail on the spacer. Is another protectant necessary for this wood?

Definitely no. Linseedoil is one of the oldest an best wood protecions, that exist. The base for most of the modern stuff, like danish oil, is also linseed- and tungoil. It penetrat real deep in the wood than with light and oxigen it will harden. For exotic hardwoods you dont need more.

For softer woods I´m also using shellack or CA.

Stunning ... I was thinking about designs like this but shied away coz I was worried about the possibilities of damage to the blade and to fingers if not handled carefully.
