Thanked: 13246Fully restored J.R.Torrey" Our 136"
This was done for one of our members here at SRP to his specs....
JR Torrey & Co "Our 136" 5/8 Roundpoint
The scales are Bloodwood with a solid brass wedge, the peened pins are also brass, done by request to as close to a vintage look as I could get...
This one hits the hones tonight, and gets a test shave in the morning, and if all is right and good in the world, will be flying back home to it's owner tomorrow....
Yes I polished it out for ya too....

Looks great Glen!!!
Thanks so much. Can't wait to shave with that one. The scales really turned out great with the bloodwood.

Is the brass spacer primarily for aesthetics or to effect the overall balance?
Did you start with 1/8" bloodwood stock?

Old thread, i know. I picked up one of these in an ebay lot and was going to restore it. This one doesn't really need new scales yet, but a polish and a repinning. I was wondering if the etching will stand up to polishing?
scratch that, they need new scales. bakelite broke.Last edited by jamesm; 12-20-2012 at 05:07 PM.
