Rhodes and Champion Razor 1814 primitive razor
This is a Rhodes and Champion razor made between 1814/26.I don’t usually rework these primitive razors,as they have some collectior value in their original condition, however this one had some problems,so I reworked it.The scales are original, and the crack you see on the mark side has been repaired. This was originally a wedge,it is now 1/8 hollow.I put an edge on it and shaved with it.It surprised me in that it gave a very nice shave for a razor 194 years old,and made it all the way through the shave without a touch up.The steel is definitely softer than what we are used to,but serviceable. It was fun to shave with, but I wouldn’t recommend it for your rotation.I hope you enjoy looking at it.Best Regards Gary
