    Default Razors are like kids

Making scales and restoring razors is kind of like raising kids. You toil and sweat over them as you gingerly mold them into you image and watch them grow. You polish them up and get a sense of pride when you stand back and look at what they have become. Then the time comes to send them out into the world. You hope the qualities you have instilled in them will carry them through life and they will become productive contributors to society.

So off go my latest 6 children to enrich the lives of others.

...and if you take the Dremmel to them with too much pressure they warp or crack or shatter into little pieces.

Out of curiosity, what are each of the razors?

    If I remember correctly,

Henckels 8/8, Bartman high class 7/8, another Bartman, another 8/8 Henckels, a 7/8 Henckels and a 6/8 Otto BushWeltmaster. A lot of lace wood and a couple of figured red Nara.

Those are some beautiful razors, awesome work. I'm sure they will make their owners very happy.

You know, all the razors I get have some plain horn or plastic scales. I wonder what people would have thought about their every day shaving tools if they saw them dressed up as beautifully as that? Like jewlery they are.

An interesting point. I certainly appreciate the quality of the work that various members do, but of my own razors (which are rather ordinary), I really love plain, black horn the most. Throw in a little visible aging and I think they look all the better. Oh, and the feel...
