RBI razor
Here is my RBI (Russel Baldridge influenced) razor. It is an old file I annealed shaped and rehardened. I am slowing learning to hollow grind.

Yes it shaves well, I waited and test shaved my razors before posting this time.
It was very hard when honing and took a great edge.
commando - I am not that brave

Great idea using the file! I always like seeing knives made from files with the remnants of the pattern still visible.

Great work Charlie.
Looks nicely balanced.
Love the built in jimping
Can I ask how you annealed the file ?The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

saw this at the dfw meet up. this is a very cool razor. pictures do not do justice to the size of this behemoth. it is right scary.
actually, this is a great looking razor that is just so cool. spazola does some great work. he is just amazing with his ideas. thanks for the inspiration and bringing in your razors.
for those wanting to see the size next to some others, look at the DFW meet up pictures. cool stuff.

I cut the file to length with an angle grinder. Then I heated one half (in my one brick forge) of the blank to nonmagnetic the put it into a can of lime to cool slowly. The next day I did the same thing to the other half. After that it was soft enough to hacksaw and file.

Thanx Charlie - don't laugh but I was imagining a big bonfire burning for hours and then retrieving the file next day out of the ashes.
