Case red imp w/ lady scales (osage)
Well, I thought I'd try something completely different. The missus has officially claimed me to be insane.
Here is a hardly used Case Red Imp with oasage scales cut one piece into the figure of a lady. Different indeed, but not sure if I like it. Definately was kind of fun to make.
Blade polished up nice. Not sahrp yet, but if it is like my Temperite, it should be a fine shaver.
Is she a keeper, or get rid of her and stick with traditional scales?

That certainly is very cool to look at; I'd suggest at least keeping the original scales (in case you decide to sell her at some point in the future). The Imps are like the Temperites in that they are fantastic shavers. I've used the quarter hollow ("wedge") and full hollow versions of each; I found the full hollow Temperite stiffer than the full hollow Imp.

Honest opinion? I think from the waist down looks great and accurate but then upwards it "loses focus" kind of. The upper half doesn't look as refined or accurate I guess as the bottom half. I'm sure it took a lot of work to figure out that pattern, and it's a great idea. I think you could practice another set and have it turn out even better! Nice idea and I love the one piece scale aspect.

I like it. Great concept K.
Her neck & throat area however is disproportionately large compared to her nice slim body.
Trouble is having the blade slip thru the other side if you correct that.
If her gluteus prevented further blade travel you could hollow the back of her neck a little.
Or you could make her strictly a body sculpture & remove the facial features.
Dammit I just find women confusing. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanks for the feedback. Part of the head/ neck/ back is that the picture I was using as a concept had poofy long hair. I think with somethin like this, the hair shouldn't be considered or it should be better defined.

A bigger butt and less hair for the next one.
