Ben ~ I disagree. Don't think you've left yourself much room for improvement at all.
Love it, especially the all over satin look. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanks Charlie, I appreciate your words, as i'm very envious of your abilities!
Os, originally i'd done the scales in a high gloss spray acrylic. They got sanded back to bare timber again. I loved the blackness it achieved with the ebony, but it just didn't create the right look!
Anyone else rescaling one of these blades find that whoever scaled them originally bored the pivot out to 2.5mm (3/32")? Had to buy larger diameter bar for a better fit.

Man those pins look so good.
Did you put spacers between the scales and blade ?
Also I do believe that Maximilian has done a couple as well as Joed

There are no spacers in there. I had them ready in case i needed the extra room to get the blade to centre, but it went in perfectly. I was surprised as i have no pillar drill, just did it with a handheld.
I saw those. Thanks for the links. Good to see them again. They set a high standard to follow! Neither mention whether they found the pivot hole to be larger though.
Had a couple of shaves with it now. The first since it went into the new scales. The balance is fantastic & it feels perfect. I think i got really lucky at every stage. Ready to tackle the next set now, just need a blade for them!
