    Default Hess rescue

    Here is a sweet little Hess 5/8 I finished recently. I love the cracked-ice scales. As with any other Hess, it took an exceptional edge.

    Here it is before;

    Here it is after;

    Mighty nice. When it is a labor of love you can see it in the finished product.

    Really nice. Gleaming mirrored blade there! Is it another keeper though?

    I like Hess blades. They were made by the now defunct International Cutlery Co. It honed up like a Boker Red Injun. It will eventually end up for sale on my website.

    That's a great way of getting to try lots of blades & it not costing a fortune. Use it till something else comes up, then sell it restored!
