Default John S. Holler & Co. celebrated razor in Olivewood

Here's another razor that I'm just finishing up. This one still needs to be honed. I made this handle out of the same block of wood as the Wade & Butcher that I recently posted. I put this one together the same way, with barrel pivots instead of pins, nylatron washers, and Cocobolo for the wedge. I didn't taper the wedge on this one, as it was I found that to be a PITA on the last one. This one already had jimping on the underside of the tang, so I didn't need to add any.

This Holler razor is quite a bit wider than the Wade & Butcher Medium Hollow. The Holler also has a number 7 marked on the obverse side. Does that mean it's a 7/8 razor? If not, any idea what it means?

This blade has more extensive pitting than the Wade & Butcher. I think it looks okay at the moment but, since it doesn't have any etching on the blade to worry about, I'm considering trying to completely eradicate the pits.

Nice looking razor. The 7 more than likely means it is, or was, razor #7 out of a 7 day set. AS for the blade, if you can't get all the spots out, I wouldn't worry....just polish, hone, and it'll be just fine.
