I have a razor of a similar style from Sheffield but its more hollow ground. Every time I look at the thumb notch and the smiling edge I marvel at the skill they had in the 1900's. Mine shave as close as anything I've ever owned and to be honest I always feel that the more modern razors actually improved nothing except the money the factories made.
