Thread: ERN 1166 in Stained Oak Scales

This is my first full out restoration (i.e. blade to a mirror finish, scales, CA coat, decent looking pins). Let me know what you guys think.

Fantastic job. Mine never turn out like that- I just don't have the patience to sand and sand... to get that mirror finish. I'm sure you are on the right track!

Very nice! You've done a thorough job there & the standard of work seems very high! Did it pin ok & are you happy with how the blade centres? I found that to be the hardest part.

The centering part took a couple tricks. They first was to sand the inside pieces flat and then the second was to not install the internal (thrust?) washers. For some reason (maybe added play or wiggle room) they would cause the blade to be off center. Shimming the blade to either side with an extra one didn't seem to work either, but for some reason, no washers worked out.
