Wade & Butcher "Clean Shaver" in Maple
I got this razor from ebay. I was not sure what to expect. The etching on the blade was in very good condition, but there was one pit in the middle of it. I decided to leave it alone since any attempt to remove it would damage the etching.
I made the scales out of maple. The scalloped edge is the natural shape of the wood that was just under the bark. The wedge is made of ebony.
The lighting the photos does not quite do justice to the wood grain. Natural sunlight will really make the wood look a lot livelier.
I finished the scales with cyanoacrylate.

That is a fine job. It looks awesome and very unique with the scalloping of the scales on the bottom rather then the top, Good work.

The shape of the scales is unique, I like it. Definitely gives it personality.

I like how you left the natural shape in the wood. Excellent work!

Thanks for the comments.
I could not resist using the wood for this project. After reflection, and looking at the whole set up, I think a blade with a French point might flow better with the shape of these scales. It never ends.
