Soilarch's First Attempts
Honestly don't know how I feel about these. Turned out so so, much better than they could have, but I'm not happy with the finish on the blades. (Can't really see that in the pics. btw, camera skills need 'honing' as well....)
Wedges need to not have so much "wedge" to themselves. Pinning needs to have the rod cleaned up a little more before I start a-tapping and the Genco doesn't "track" straight into the scales...it's off by less than a 1/16th" but still just barely hangs up.
Genco "Golden Seal" in Lexan with brass wedge and Worth&Son's "Gentleman's Favorite" in Rosewood with matching wedge.
Suggestions, Please

You are your on worst critic, I like the shape of the scales and the work. The brass wedge looks wedgie to me. Figuring out why the blade is not centered can be frustrating. Sometimes the blade is ground off center or the tang is ground funny. Sometimes you do a bad job of pinning. Once you figure out why it is off center you can fix it.
Since your first tries are this good, I am waiting to see your future works.
Nice work

Ditto on Charlie's comments. A wedge is a wedge. You're off to a great start.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
