Default Frederick Reynolds 6/8+ in Marble Acrylic scales

This is a never been honed 6/8+ Full Hollow Grind Spike Point Frederick Reynolds....

The razor was near perfect when I got it, but was stuck in some plain Slick Black scales... Not one speck of rust or pitting was on the razor, I just buffed it out to a nice satin finish to match the original with just a touch more sheen....

I had been wanting to mess with some acrylic, so I ordered a couple of blocks of it and decided to cut off enough to make scales from the opposite side.. This gave it the marbled look this you see here, with just the blue lines instead of the blue and yellow pattern you would expect...

Working the acrylic from a block is way different than from using 1/8 inch sheets... I cut the blanks using a band-saw leaving some pretty rough sides, after that I used a bench style belt sander with belts from 80-240 grit to thin it up, and start re-polishing it.. You have to be really careful sanding because of the heat build up... After power sanding I went from 320-2000 by hand until I was getting some shine back.. I switched to Micro-mesh from 2500-12000 then buffed it with a soft wheel and plastic polish... I would highly recommend using the sheets unless you have a belt sander and lots of grits to match it...
The wedge is Blue and White Acrylic with Brass hardware, I used stacked brass washers to make it just like the originals, I pulled the old vintage bearing washers polished them up and used them I love the nice thin look they give....

The balance point is dead on the tang, after doing some adjusting with it....
