I work with acrylics a lot and coolant, water and a little washing up liquid makes a big difference to the finish. A fine blade is going to struggle more than a coarse blade to be honest, the teeth clear less material, cut slower and consequently generate more heat. Also, scraping with a sharp edge of a ruler or similar will create a better finish than sanding for the final surface.
