    Default Frenchpoint Friodur

Got me a Spanish point worked back Friodur and moved the tip across the border into France...

Tang got a modified heel, and a thumbnotch.....I gotta have a thumbnotch!

Still the same scales it came in. They're pretty nice. I'll wait for inspiration to strike for a new set of scales for this Big Momma (I already have a hazy idea, but I'm waiting for it to fully form in my mind...)

Your balls are getting bigger with that grinder to do that with one of those! Looks good, but i must admit to prefering the old point.
When does a round become a french? I thought that as soon as the curve started to return on itself at the edge it was a round.
    Still loving the thumbnotches!

My classification is if the edge is longer than the spine you can call it a French, or oblique point.

If the curve doen't return, then it becomes a spike in my book, and I'm not going there.... I like things that add to shave ease and comfort, not upping the danger level beyond where it already is!

And there were some beads of sweat on my forehead while I was working on this, that normally are not present when I'm grinding a DA!

I used to have one of these Spanish point Friodurs, and a Roundpoint one at the same time. I prefered the roundpoint, as the cutting edge was about a 1/4 inch shorter, and seemed to allow for better manuvering around my face. Thus I decided to shorten this one a touch too. And the French point allowed me to mesh the new point lines into one of the previous worked back features.
