I don't know how you do that magic Max, but magic it is. What a job on that blade.

    Wow that is awesome work!

Tell my Grandfather to slap me in the back of the head if I'm out of line here, but what is your progression getting that blade to that amazing mirror finish? I got the wet/dry from 180 to 2000 finishing with MASS but I mean that thing is glowing...Buffing wheel?

Is that really mine?? . This was an e bay score a few months ago, I'd been looking for a big wedge and kept missing out of the W&B meatchoppers that seem to have become the craze over the past year.

I happened to chance on this Greaves which arrived in very poor condition, for all of $27

Max I am thrilled with the result, absolutely delighted. This razor will never leave me, it's art! even if I never shaved with it( and believe me I will ) I'd keep it around just to look at.

I tend to give carte blanche to people I regard as true craftsmen , a habit I developed when building custom motorcycles back in the day.

I'd go to my paint guy and say for example, " OK, I want it orange and with such and such a theme" and just let him create. I'd do the same with engravers and metal platers and the leather guy who covered seats.

Using this tactic with guys whose work I knew and trusted, I was never dissapointed with the end result.
This has been the case again since I decided to get some straights restored with both Max and Glenn ( Gssixgun). They have both proven to be true craftsmen at the peak of their profession.

What did you do to that lovely patina?

My lust for big blades has been satisfied recently but this one is irresistible.

Awesome Max, but... (I can't believe i am saying this... please forgive me...) it's kind of hard to see the full sweetness of the blade with all of that bright white background..

But that being said... awesome (and don't get me wrong, I love your photos... wish I could do as well with mine)

BTW I love the spacer on this one

Now that is one big shiny mother of a razor. You outdid yourself with this one, Max.

    Congrats, Englishgent!
