Joseph Rodgers & Sons - Sheffield ~ G10 2x2 Black & Tan
What we have here is a Joseph Rodgers & Sons, cutlers to her majesties, N°6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
The blade was cleaned and restored to a high mirror finish. No introduction needed on the Jospeh Rodgers.
The scales were custom ordered since the new owner wanted something different, unique and didn't care for any of the straight line designs. I was given an idea of something he really liked. He decided on the G10 Black/Tan which actually looks more grayish to me.
It took me a while to work and finish those scales but it was worth the effort as It turned out a stunner and our new owner is ecstatic. The weight and balance are just perfect.
It's always a challenge to try and get into someones mind as what they love and what not. We all have our personal style and believes.
In general a true artist or designer always puts his ideas and believes into his work of art so it becomes a real challenge if that same person needs to adapt and try to make something completely different.
It will get honed today and then it's going straight to the new owner.
Enjoy!

That is a very cool razor! Got to agree with Red about the wedge. Sometimes it works so well to have it matching. Great work Max.

That's a nice little number, alright. I also liked the spacer detail.
So do you get the G10 as a hunk or have it laid up custom or even lay it up yourself? I did some composite work in college (ages ago), but I have no clue how things work outside of a helicopter factory.
Aces as always, Max.

Wow ! That is different. Something like a musical instrument at the wedge end.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
