the rays need to start on the bottom for a sunrise/sunset. at least in texas that is how that giant ball of fire works. so there was my critique.
wow, great scales. i love this wood. what did you finish with? super work as always.

Those scales look really neat.
Are they one piece? I don't see any seam at the toe end of the wood where the other pin normally is.
