Default Eric Anton Berg in Faux Tortoise by Maximilian

I purchased this razor from a member via the classifieds a couple of weeks ago. After about 15 seconds of intense thought it was shipped off to Max for a little of his magic. We exchanged a couple of emails and voila, it shows up on my front porch yesterday. I was amazed, not only is the workmanship outstanding, the final product is EXACTLY what I wanted.

After about an hour & a half on the stones (really hard steel) followed by normal stropping I enjoyed one of the smoothest shaves I can remember - and I've been at this for 40+ years.

What the pictures can't convey is how the razor feels in the hand. This is the best feeling razor I've ever used.

Now I've got to have one in paua...

    Thanks Max!

So, no harm came to any plastic turtles while making those scales?

    I feel so much better.

Oh, by the way, that is one handsome razor

Great Razor and I as usual Max does incredible work. I am curious about the wedge though. Is it black plexi glass or some other type of material because I used clear glass on the wedge for my first razor in tortoise and I think the black looks better. Obviously I am not a master at this like Max, but I would like to know about where to get the material.
Great Razor! Thanks for showing it to us!

I'm not so sure about the harm factor, rumor has it that the deserts around Las Vegas are littered with dead plastic turtles... but as far as I'm concernned they gave their all for a noble cause

The wedge appears to have been made from the same material as the scales. It is entirely Max's design - I did not request any specific material.
