Wostenholm IXL in B&W Ebony
This is the first time I've worked up to a mirror finish. Still a couple pits on the tang but they look much worse in the pics. The scales are black & white ebony finished with a good few coats of wipe on poly. The brass spacer helps balance the blade but it was a bear to fit. There must be a trick to that I haven't figured out yet. It just didn't balance right with wood. It's a great shaver, I'll put an edge on it this week.
Before: The scales were pretty bad but I shaved with it but a crack near the pin eventually made it unusable.

She looks great. To bad about the scales original scales though - I'm a sucker for black horn.

Thanked: 13245OK I will re-write this post, hmmm I could have sworn I hit summit last night
Love your choice of wood the B&W Ebony is a great wood to work with, the pinning and shaping looks nice and tight...
You are right Brass or Silver wedges are a bear to work with, somewhere in the dusty archives here, are some threads I did on ways to work them...
The really tuff part is making them an actual wedge shape rather than just a spacer.. I will try and find those and link them here for you...
Good Job !!!
