    Arrow Joseph Rodgers & Sons - Sheffield ~ 9/8 - The Whale

    Oy,

my wife dubbed this one 'the whale'.

This 9/8 full hollow monster was sent to me by one of our members accompanied with a set of gray translucent horn slabs.

Restore (but no reground) the blade, please, and use the slabs for the rescale job was the mission statement.

The blade got restored alright. The only real blemishes left are a small group of immigrant pits towards the spine just at the corner of the toe side on the backside of the blade.

The slabs were both slightly warped and had some natural occurring white patches in them. I was able to cut 1 scale per slab and spend a while sanding and prepping the scales to their final buff.

Peened everything together this morning and my only wish right now would be for the owner to have a memory loss.

All I can say is I'll pamper myself with a full shave before it swims back to the coastal area of the West.

    Enjoy amigo!

    Delicious.

    Does Max own any razors?

I bet he just shaves with the ones we send him.

    What a gig.

This thing is absolutely beautiful. It's hard to imagine it getting much better, but alas, your next will seem the same way

Beautiful Max! Just beautiful. But I think you are confused - that one is going to Australia - the East coast of Australia. That's OK, you get a lot of razors, and sometimes you must get confused. Just remember, this one is going to Australia...
