    Default Greaves in Tiger Maple

Here are a couple of before shots:

I took her apart and discarded the old scales. They were not in as good of shape as the pictures suggest. Ewwww.

I then got rid of all of the pitting in the blade and worked it back up to a very shiny finish. Almost mirror except for some of the scratches I left in the blade from the lower grits. By the time I had it polished and could see the older scratches, I had had enough sanding. Its shiny enough for me.

Build the scales out of tiger maple. It was a 3/8ths piece of stock originally intended for a knife handle that I ripped with my dozuki. Some quality time with my belt sander and some layers of CA and viola. The thing sparkels and dances nicely, but it is pretty hard to take a decent picture of.

Oh, the wedge is black paper micarta.

    Here are the new pictures.

Very nice job. I like that! I have really like the razors lately with more than one end pin. I don't know why but I just do. Congrats!

Very impressed with the job you did on the blade, not to mention the beautiful scales.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
