Thread: 6/8 Boker in African Blackwood

First, thanks to Glen for such a fine job. I really like what he has done.

Can anyone tell me anything about this razor? I picked it up off of eBay a while back because I liked the look of the etching and because I had heard that vintage Bokers were good razors.

I found some info at the Boker web site showing the different tree symbols used over the years:


That image is from Böker - Your Knife Made In Solingen.
To me the symbol on the razor looks most like the 1900-1924 version in the above, but not exactly like any of them.

I know Boker had both a German and a US presence but if I read the above web page correctly it seems that all razors were made in Germany. The etching on the blade is obviously an American design so was presumably made for the American market, probably to Boker NY's specs.

If anyone can add anything I'd appreciate it!
