    Arrow Wapienica... G10 black/Red *Updated

I got this Wapi send in for some new scales.

As it goes this project isn't fully finished yet, but it will be interesting to follow it up. Hopefully I'll get it back for some more pics of the final project.

Greg decided on G10 black/red with only SS washers/pins and transparent wedge.

For people who don't know the Wapi.. well it's a Polish made razor from Swedish steel and are usually 1/4 or 1/2 hollow and sized 5/8, French point. They originally come with solid steel handles which throws them off balance as the weight of the scales overpowers the balance of the razor.

This Wapi is a project Greg is putting together for his son. Since his son is a born 'Leo' he wanted a silver Lion inlay on the scales.

The razor is now being send to 'David Yellowhorse' in Arizona, who is going to make and implement the silver lion inlay.

Greg has also the intention to have some file work done on the spine.

I did ask Greg how old his son was and he replied........ '1'.

Greg likes to think ahead! He'll probably use the razor himself until his son starts to shave.

Who says you can't style a Wapi!

    updated 08/26/2009

As promised here's an updated thread on Greg's Leo Wapi I first made.

He got the wapi back from 'David Yellowhorse' who finally finished the silver inlay on both sides of the scales.

Greg just send the razor to me to put the final edge on this baby and hone it up.

I must say I was drooling when I first saw it. First I had to wipe Greg's drool off and now mine. 'David Yellowhorse' did a marvelous job and pics don't do this any justice.

This is an awesome looking Wapi.

Very nice Max. The G10 almost looks like laminated timber.
Zodiac theme is a great idea too.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Max, that Wapi looks really stunning. Excellent work!
I have one lying in its box, never used so far and the initial plan was to put it on the market. However, I very much like the idea of Greg's project. So, here I am now planning to keep the Wapi and turn it into something special and unique for a later occasion (no kids yet in our household..) If I am ever blessed with a Son, it will be his.

Before this thread, I was actually reading your other thread about the 8/8 W&B with Micarta scales. And now this one.. I might actually want to trouble you with that project once the time comes...

    Again, well done!

    Jeff
