Default 6/8 Joseph Elliot Olde Stub Tail

    This is one Olde razor

I found this info too and yes it has the reversed C's and cross

    ELLIOT, JOSEPH
    Sheffield
Trademark: C reversed and C, with cross between
1821-1854 ("More Old Razors" by Lummus. Antiques, May 1927 p.372-374)

The new Lava Red Acrylic scales have a similar line to the originals with just a smidgen more curve and I added a 3rd pin just for looks....
This color of acrylic seems to be the choice of anyone wanting a classy looking acrylic I like it for the older razors....

All brass hardware including a new source of the fancy center pin washer...

The blade had some rather bad black staining with light pitting under it on the show side which you can see in the macro pics but hardly at all in real life... I took it off using the buffer and grease-less compounds.....

Not bad at all for 155-188 years old, hope it lasts another 200 years

The blade is actually a 6/8 + and I would put it at a 3/4 or full hollow can't wait to hone it up and see how she shaves but if this razor is true to the name 'Elliot" than it should be a smooth shave....

This one will be flying home as soon as I can get time on the hones...

This is just showing off a well balanced razor sitting pretty on the tang....

    Great job G-man.

I recently worked on another older J Elliot. Gotta love those oldies.

    The G always delivers!

As we say downunder " Bewdy Mate !!! "
That acrylic looks great on old Sheffields & that centrepin rocks ! Nice feature.

Thank you for the compliments Gents,

I just shaved this one, I actually took the time for a complete shave with it, I mean heck it isn't everyday you get to use a razor that was made 180 years ago...
Guys I gotta tell ya I am IMRESSED... wow that baby is slickness on a stick.... Pio it will be heading your way in the AM brother, enjoy !!!!
