Beautiful razor. Love the diamond point & the scales are excellent.

However, and I really really don't mean to be nitpicky, but the word "Tortuous" means immensely complex, intricate, difficult, painful or excruciating...

    I think you mean "Tortoise".

I only point it out because it took me a good minute to figure out that the scales, rather than being so ugly they were extremely painful for you to look at, were made of tortoise shell.
Ha! Darn spell checker. I must have fat fingered it and it got auto corrected and I never caught it.

    I simply googled his name!
I googled the address and name but found nothing relative. That is quite cool.

William Bieser, Grinder and Polisher and Dealer in Cutlery, Scissors, Razors, Table and Pocket Knives.....

In Philladeliphia, there is no one who ranks higher than Mr. Williams Bieser, who is also one of the most expert grinders and polishers of cutlery in the city......

Mr. Bieser makes a specialty of Grinding and repairing all kinds of cutlery from the finest razors or knives to the heavier grades used by manufacturers, and this as all other branches of his business is alwayse satisfactorily and effeciently performed.....

    Slick article, and quite old.

Honed up the blade last night. Pretty good shave, still needs a few passes on the stone but I would say it is 98% there.

    Beautiful restoration.

What do you make of the rounded over tip -- original or an old repair?

By far the best set of scales you've ever done. great shape and fantastic material. why can I never find scales like that, they're gorgeous and I need them on a blade I have.
