Default 5/8 spike Real Red Point in Bloodwood

I have had this razor sitting in the bottom of my needs scales box for probably a year and never made scales for it. So I dug it out, hit it with the buffing wheels to polish it up and cut a set of Bloodwood scales for it. Since it is a Red Point blade, I thought red scales were fitting.

The blade is in nearly new condition. There is no hone ware and it was nearly NOS condition. It just needed a little buffing to polish it out. One side of the tang is stamped 519, Real Red Point Made By Experts, Solingen Germany. The other side of the Tang is stamped Harris Brothers & Co. Distributors, Chicago and there is a small LF stamped into the monkey tail.

The scales are Danish Oil finished Bloodwood. I used a Black Walnut wedge and the pins are 1/16 inch brass rod with a single brass washer. The scales are to small to use a double stainless/brass washer, it would throw the proportions all off.

It is a nice little razor. It will get honed tonight and probably end up in the classifieds later this week.

Very nice work! I like the selection of the wood matching the name of the razor! Let me know when it goes on the classifieds, I may buy it! Way to go!
