Thanked: 13245Mastro Livi Damascus -Pearl Acrylic Re-scale
This was a 7/8 Spanish Point Mastro Livi Damascus wrapped in the standard Cocobolo one piece scales....
The razor came to me last year with some edge problems, I had to straighten out some very bad hone wear..The size is now 6/8+ the former owner sold this one to me last week....I just put it in some new White Pearlized Acrylic scales...
I had to do some modification to get the effects I wanted, Livi uses 1/8 pins on his razors so I slipped in a brass tube to take up the slop going to 1/16 pins... I took it to a 3 pin design and used a square 1/8 brass tube for the center pin spacer, giving it a slightly different look ( I could not get a pic to come out)...
The hardware is all two-tone I used NiAg rod with brass and SS washers to give it a multi-layered and multi-colored look on the pins...
This one is rather subtle with plain white scales that have just a flash of pearl when you look close.... The wedge is blue acrylic with white threads in it...
I think I will be keeping this puppy in the rotation for quite some time...

Young G ! That's gotta be one of your best !!!
That white pearl is very SXC too.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

making scales for a Livi that go with the blade has got to be a challenge in itself without all the other problems, you pulled it off perfectly wow

All of you restores are very well done but I think this one is my new favorite of those you restored. Very classy looking and well balanced appearance.

Beautiful job as always Glen! Here's a "Thumbs-Up"
I think that the pearlized acrylics are the closest things out nowdays to the celluloid "cracked ice" look. Have you been able to find that material in yellow?
