Full Concave Bengall
Another nice chunky 6/8 Bengall.
Was in a bit of a state so some light pitting & tarnish remains but the stamps & blade etch all survived the resto pretty well.
Cleaned sanded & buffed the scales & polished the brass logo.
Re pinned with Ni Arg pins & stainless washers.
This one heads heads home to New Zealand in the morning.Last edited by onimaru55; 08-10-2009 at 09:32 AM.

Thanked: 235If my restoration skills could produce that I think I would have a hard time sending it back to the owner. But I suppose if I used a stolen razor that had been 'lost in the mail' I'm sure it would bite me.

Thanked: 137Onimaru - if you don't mind me asking, who's the member you restored it for? I didn't think there were too many on here from NZ - always good to meet fellow straight users.

New Zealand? You're sure it's not Las Vegas?
Love it.

Thanked: 1ok I'll fess up
It's my razor and Oz has worked a minor miracle with it. Don't have a before picture but it was in worse than average condition. Discoloured and with pitting. I picked it up for $24 NZ (about $17 US) so am well pleased with it.
Of course I couldn't send it to Oz by itself (might have got lonely) so sent a senator with it for honing
Of course I plan to stop at 2 (or was it 3)

Thanked: 137Rosco - nice to meet another Kiwi, although I'm simultaneously plotting a robbery of your house, since you appear to be able to find vintage blades locally that I can't find down here in the South (I've had to give up TradeMe, too many junkers/last minute snipers).

Very nicely restored! I love Bengall razors. The owner will be very proud of that one. Thanks for sharing!
