Torrey Restore
This is my second restoration. It is a Torrey razor found in an antique shop, and for the most part was in pretty good shape. The blade had minor small rust spots as well as associated pitting. The scales weren’t in bad shape but were not original; as I wasn’t happy with the style or look, so I decided to redo them.
Brand:
The Torrey Razor Co
Specs:
6/8 round point 1/2 hollow
Age:
Sometime post 1890
Original Location:
Buried in an antique store
Scales:
Cocobolo finished in 4 coats of Danish Oil and Satin Wax
Wedge:
Honduras Rosewood
Pins:
Brass

Job extremely well done for your second resto. That blade also turned out stellar.

Very nice.
Love the scales how the tang flows into themThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Very nice work. These blades make top notch shavers, so they're always worth the effort.

No pics of the first restore yet, a Warner and Co Sheffield. I finished it, but was unhappy with the look of the scales upon further thought (not thin enough, and the wrong type of wood for the blade, Honduras Rosewood was too bright), so off they went! Just finishing it up actually with final finish coats on the new scales. I'll try to post some pics of it once pinned.
Thanks for the interest and comments!
