W&B original 8/8 wedge
She aint no skinny chic thats foh sho!
Ok here is my Wade & Butcher 8/8 wedge, all original steel bullseye washers, brass pins, lead wedge and horn scales, the blade was badly pitted here and there and some patina is still left, the main reason being that the blade is etched with "Magnum Bohun" and I wanted to keep that.
If anyone could help me work out when She was made it would be ace, there is no "England" on the tang so I guess she is pre 1891, also no maltese cross or star, if that helps anyone
Many thanks for looking and best wishes to all

Many thanks Cedric, "Original Restorers Club" is that a real club?
your contribution is very gratefully recieved my friend
Mmmm I found a copy of a transcript about an early American Pioneer and part of it is an inventory describing purchases made:
The ledger for the
period from September, 1825, to May, 1826, shows a total
of $162.74 charged against Provengalle, for goods including
one pair of children's morocco half boots at one dollar, one
pair of "pegg shoes" at a dollar and a half, one case of
"Magnum Bonum" razors at six dollars,
1825! now thats getting on a bit!!
it doesnt say anymore about the Razors and i dont know if any other manufacture made magnum Bonum? but it looks about right to me

Nice job. Indeed, it looks like great good has come your way

That's a great find you've made about 1825! It's really a beautiful razor- looks like it may have had some French influence, what with the bevelled point and such. I've never seen a W&B like it.... lovely!
Which reminds me, you did a fine job on restoring it!
