Henckels in Dyes Box Elder
Check it out.
Not my usual material. This was obtained and sent by the client.
Turned out kinda nice. The depth of the blue and a chatoyance isn't really captured well by the pics.
As anyone who has rescaled one knows, these large henckels can be challenging to fit. Their large, untapered, unbeveled tangs take just the right wedge geometry to be accomodated (or other techniques, like notches in the scales.
Enjoy.

They really are beautiful, though I'm not so partial to green scales!
Did the blade give you much trouble. Those particular Friodur's can be a bit of an @rse!

Thanked: 137Love the scales. It reminds me of the beautiful patterns you see in low-grade pounamu (New Zealand Maori name for nephrite/jade), although far more detailed and definitely more sturdy. I'm literally drooling imagining those scales with brass stacked washers on that razor, in my collection. Very jealous of the owner right now.

Stunning . Looks more like gemstone than timber
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
