8/8 Wade & Butcher in green pearl with a mirror polish
This is a rework for a SRP member. It is a 8/8 Wade and Butcher wedge. The hard work was already finished, the blade had been sanded and partially buffed. I just gave it a few more passes on the wheels to refine the finish. It is a big, heavy wedge.
The scales are a synthetic green pearl. They were wet sanded and buffed out to a near mirror shine as well. It actually makes it difficult to get a good photo, to much reflection from the scales. I cannot capture the depth of the coloring, to much reflection. The wedge is an acrylic pearl and the pins 1/16 brass rod with brass over stainless washers.
I cut the wedge down to hold the blade a touch higher in the scales on purpose. Look at the photo of the razor closed. The curve of the razors spine follows the curve of the scales. That helps the razors lines to flow smoothly from one end to the other.
This is a heck of a razor, very happy with how it came out. Wish it was going into my collection.
