    Default Freidmann & Lauterjung Wedge

Found this guy up at Virginia City, NV on a trip with my Movember teammates the day after Thanksgiving. Same day as my avatar photo was taken. Also found that day were two larger W&Bs that I need to get started on.

Not sure what is with the steel on this blade, but it is some strong stuff. It took me about 10 hours on a DMT Coarse plate to set the bevel evenly, but now that the edge is there it is a smooth shaver. Right up there with my Wosties and W&Bs. I left the natural grind/wire-brush marks on the blade but it took a great shine over them after a bit of time in the tumbler. There is a slight bit of what appears to have been etching on the front part, but if so it is just the bottom section and had long since worn away before I ever laid eyes on them.

Scales are English Mahogany with brass liners and Ambonya Burl wedge. Finished simply with Myland's wax and a hot lamp to soak it in deep. Worked great for clean look without sheen.

Wedge pin is brass tube with double washers and the hinge pin is solid brass pin over a large washer.
