Thanked: 1072Invicta 6/8 kept original
Havent seen many of these here on SRP but I have another one in my rotation and its one of my favourites.
This should have been a quick easy restore as it was in pretty good condition, but it didnt go as easy as planned.
I left the finished blade on top of my fridge while i went on holiday and returned to find little black spots of corrosion on one side. That took about 90 minutes of hand sanding and polishing to fix. Then when I went to pin the blade I realised the new acrylic wedge I had made was a little to wide and allowed the blade to sink in just a little too much and bring the heel of the blade dangerously close to the back of the scales.
I recycled an old lead spacer and fixed the problem.
Scales got a polish, Nickel Silver pins, s/steel washers and its back to its former glory.
I've got a feeling all the set-backs were just karma making me work to earn a very nice razor, looking forward to honing this one up
Cheers

That is indeed a gorgeous razor and an excellent job overall. 2 thumbs up for the peening too.

Thanked: 12Looks brand spanking new. Did you do that (sanding/polishing) all by hand? I'm glad you used the old spacer, I think the dark metal looks really nice with the dark scales. And, as Max said, a peening job to be proud of.

Great job Grant . Minty fresh & looks like you''l have a great shaver for your trouble.
Blade looks a little like the Cadmans. NiceThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
