I think I am going to have to modify it for scale. at this size the threading is about 1/16th thick. Perhaps possible, but not likely given this is a first attempt for me. I'll print this out at work and take a go at it this week.

This will be some big scales though. I hope I have a blade that will fit well. About 1.5" at the wedge end.

I think that you may be correct. That may be just a bit daunting for a first project. Are you looking at doing a straight metal scale with a cutout background, or an overlay/inlay on top of a set of wooden scales??

Exquisite work. I've seen you other work and highly enjoy your functional are. There's a new kid on the block and he is producing a new class of razor restores!

Time to hand a shingle and make your restores available to the rest of us!
Thanks, and sorry about your desk.
At the encouragement of some friends and my wife, I am going to be starting up my own custom metalworking company. It'll basically be an outlet for one of my hobbies. Of course this is how my photography business started out too. While the straight razors will definately have their own part in all of this, there will also be other more generic pins and brooches, as well as some masonic jewells and tid bits. We're still working on the website, so I'll let everyone know when it's up and running.

    cheers,

Probably the latter. I might use that design as an engraving in wood and inlay some wire into it instead.

    Holy crap!

Damn, we've got some serious craftsmen on this board. That's really, REALLY amazing.

    Beautiful work!

The Celtic themes are close to my heart as well, and you do them justice!

Can't wait to see what's next!

Default I just saw this and a few razors in person.

Although Shutterbug is a talented photographer......the photos don't do it justice. The razors all have a warmth, for lack of another word, in person.
Beautiful work, and a heck of a nice guy.
