    Default First Two Buff Jobs

Here are some pictures of my first two buff jobs.

The first one I did at Lynn's and with help from Lynn. It's a John Shaw's Celeblated razor. I used a few different machines there and a bunch of different compounds. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what got used. It still has some vertical scratches that I think are from the 400 or 600 level, but may even be from the 240. I might go back and try to get them out, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

The second one is the first one that I did all on my own at my place. I'm usind a Baldor 1800 1/4 HP. I'm using 6 inch spiral sewn wheels, and used 240, 400 and 600 greaseless followed by Caswell's black and white compounds. I also have the blue, but I didn't use it this time around. There are still some scratches that I think are from the black or maybe the white, and I left some pitting in because there was a lot and I was getting tired of the 240. Again, not perfect, but I'm happy with it.

I've already shaped the bevel on the Shaw with a Naniwa 400 and started on the Wosty, so both have some scratching above the bevel and below the spine wear line from the Naniwa.

That's a nice shine. I'm sure you'll have the scratches figured out in no time.

That's quite a spine on the second razor...

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
