Ward Brothers, Sheffield 6/8
restored the blade to mirror, and gave it a new brass lined black horn wedge. Although the original scales were a little rough, I think the customer was wise in decided to keep them! These scales were mostly translucent..and when I buffed them up instead of looking great, they almost looked worse because you can see right through them and see every internal imperfection.. lol.

That wedge is gorgeous. This one was really cheap, $10 I think, and I bought it just to practice honing. Were the scales tortoiseshell?

I'm not 100% sure. They may be dyed / compressed horn. Either way...they look much much better in person. Pics make them look ugly...but.. bright lighting on translucent horn can do that

Nice job & I like the scales... Very Wabi/Sabi.
