Wade & Butcher "Bow" in Black Horn + Bolsters?
This is a first attempt at anything like this... I made the bolsters out of sheet aluminum.
There is room for improvement, but, at the same time.. its pretty friggin cool

few pics of process. I used a set of files to shape it, and CA to adhere it to the scales..it wasn't easy, I think I superglued my fingers to the scales a few times. lol. Then i had to clean off all the CA from the scales by sanding/buffing after i got the suckers on. LOL

I like. I bet your mind is already spinning with ideas on how best to recess the bolsters into the scales as a progression and further experimentation in your processes.

Thanked: 1903The story behind this razor: I bought it in wooden scales, and realised two things. First, I do not like wide scales. Last, I absolutely hate wooden scales. So the razor began its Odyssey across Europe, the US, back to Europe - and the replacement scales were not the enhancement I had hoped for.
Brad then posted a number of rescaled razors, and we talked some shop in the Chat. Finally, I sent him the razor with very clear instructions: "Go crazy!"
The bolsters were a last minute idea, but Brad was game. The idea was a good one, I must admit. If the razor looks anything like that in person, I will be a very happy man.
Thanks, Brad!
Regards,
