    Default Cool razor-knife

While browsing the internets, I came across this pretty cool-looking razor from couple of Nordic knivemakers (Magnus Axelson and Finn Hampenberg) and thought you might like a peek too =).

    Enjoy!

Wow,It's really beautiful.A gorgeous thing to behold. It looks like a razor, but I don't get why it's heel hangs down so far.You couldn't really use it to shave with like that could you?

Hmmm, mixed feelings on this one. Stunning work of art but looks clumsy as a razor.
I'd have to grind that heel down if I bought it

I don't think either of the makers is a straight user, so they might not take into consideration everything - that kind of heel isn't any problem in normal knives.

Also, lacking the hone wear in the spine it was probably sharpened freehand to a higher angle and the whole razor is back-heavy with that handle.

However, I like the cleaveresque appearance of the blade, slanted stabilizer, the holes and the absolutely brutal spanish point.

As a knife, beautiful. As a razor, needs more work.

Just been looking through some more of his knives and I love this one. It looks very Klingonish.

    Wow!

Those are really great looking! I love the cleaver-esque look and the mad spine work.

I believe it's a knife, not a shaving razor. Something like this CRKT knife designed by Jon Graham (called a Graham Razel).

That little cut outs by the heel (on both the Razel and Axelson blades) are supposed to make it easier to sharpen on a stone.

I hear you, and respect that you consider it a knife. To me, it could easily pass either as a knife or a razor (after those corrective adjustments of course).

It's of course semantics, but where does the razor end and the knife begin? What makes razor a razor and knife a knife? True, it's got that cutout at the heel. But also has a spanish point. Is it dependent on the intended usage, possible usage or just what somebody has decided to call it?
